DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY : PHILIP ALAN WATERS Philip Alan Waters is a director/cinematographer with 35 years experience in the commercial, industrial, music video, and motion picture business. He has worked as the director of photography, second unit director of photography, and camera operator on many movies in the United States, Europe and Africa. The first nine years of his career were in Atlanta, Georgia where he produced and directed commercials for the area’s advertising agencies. Then for the period of 1982-1994, he worked in the film business in Hollywood, California. He was in charge of the photography for action movies such as “Cyborg” and “Captain America.” He also worked as one of the premier camera operators on many of the large budget rock and roll concerts filmed during that time. Since returning to his home in Nashville in the mid nineties Mr. Waters has been directing and shooting corporate projects worldwide and involved in commercial production as a director and cinematographer. The turn of the century brought him back to films with a series of rapper movies in Slovakia and a Steven Seagal movie in Los Angeles. Most of the last two years have been consumed by shooting a documentary for Las Vegas philanthropist Fred Nassiri. Mr. Nassiri’s project recorded him singing his song of peace with children of the world. This required two lengthy trips to South Africa, 3 one month long trips to most every major iconic location in the world, finishing the shoot at the premier of his film in Cannes last May.
